LUX ON Broadway
An existing fraternity house along Broadway in Boulder, was re-imagined as student housing. The project scope included full field verification, as builts of the existing building on stilts, followed by a re-configuration into 10-multi-bedroom student rate apartment units.
While at SA+R, one of Colorado’s leading and trendy multi-family specialty firms, acted as project architect / BIM manager. Was involved in all phases from conceptual design, architectural and structural coordination through construction documents.
Was brought on as BIM manager in a time when the firm was in transition from AutoCAD to Revit, this represented one of the firms first fully BIM projects. While at SA+R, was tasked with field verification of the existing structure, pulling together cohesive set of as built documents, worked with the client to re-plan the existing structure given existing window configurations to a code-compliant, student housing structure. Various challenges were met and overcome with this existing structure, including egress issues.
Today, this existing re-imagined structure will live on through sustainable architecture which is taking an old building and giving it new life through a retrofit or remodel.
