Muir House

This design+build project is currently in the Design Development stage, and has lofty goals! Complete with passive solar orientation, high R insulated, thermally unbridged walls and roofs, airtight weather barrier, high performance windows, and moisture-recovery whole house ventilation, this home is slated to be Denver's (well, Lakewood's) very 1st Passive House!

The program is for 3,000 GSF of high performance, sustainable living, complete with an indoor planter bed adjacent the chefs kitchen, perfectly situated for year round herbs and fresh veggies, all nurtured by the southers axis heaters, we traditionally call, "windows." As designed, we are looking at using Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) basement walls, Structurally Insulated Panels (SIP) above grade walls, and roofs with triple-pane windows, and SIGA building wrap.

The roof structure will be sized for a future green roof, and gray water will be diverted to outdoor Permaculture gardens.

The project is scheduled to break ground in early spring, and we hope to submit for building permits in the coming weeks
